I was wondering if anyone has done any work correlating the various USDA-NCSS soil types for their suitability for making cob? If not, what ratios of sand to clay have people found to be successful for house scale cob building?  I'm hoping to use this information to help in our process of selecting our new land, someplace in the southern tier of Michigan.
