Hello!

I am looking for Chinese medicinal plants, either bare root or potted.

The plants are:

Emblica officinalis also known as Phylanthus emblica, Amla, Amlaki

Terminalia belerica also known as Bibhitaki or Behda

Terminalia chebula also known as Haritaki, Himej

These plants are known as Myrobalans, and the three together are called Triphala.

Do any of you grow these plants, or know anyone who does?

Thank you!!!

Katana

Welcome to permies Katana.

Good luck finding somebody growing those plants.
They are all quite scarce here in the U.S., and quite frost tender.

You may have better luck growing them from seed.
I do know that Strictly Medicinal Seeds (formerly Horizon Herbs) in Oregon has the Emblica officinalis seeds
The others are available from Amazon.

John,

Thanks for the welcome and the info.

Seeds are an definitely option.

I'd prefer the plants - someone out there must be growing them!

Have a wonderful evening -

If you want the plant parts, I would try a naturopath or a Traditional Chinese Medicinal Practioner.

I'm not certain they have them, but Mountain Gardens specialises in Chinese herbs. http://mountaingardensherbs.com/
