The Cascadia Grains Conference returns to Olympia on the 6th and 7th of January. I attended last year just to see what it was about and I gained quite a bit of knowledge on varieties suited to our climate as well as an understanding of the challenges Quinoa growers were facing in South America. I also participated in baking classes led by persons from Essential Baking Co, Tabor Bread and OSU. Now that I have a little more background knowledge, I believe I will be able to gain more from this event and perhaps be inspired include grains in my edible landscape. The Conference website is https://CascadiaGrains.com and scholarships are still available.

I am not affiliated with the organizers of this event; I am sharing since I believe it is relevant to our community. Please visit their website for inquiries.
