Hi folks,

I want to grow alfalfa (medicago) in Great Malvern area (United Kingdom) to use as fresh and hay to my chickens and goats.

Does any local guy has real experience (not just heard of)?
I want advice on sowing and cutting time.

I have seen in a couple of websites that it can be sown during March.
http://www.wikifarmer.com/explore/agriculture/forage/alfalfa/growing-alfalfa
https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/alfalfa/growing-alfalfa.htm

But I don't think these websites are UK.

Thanks.

Hello,

I am not far from you and I bought some last year...but didn't get round it. However I bought the seeds from Moreton in Marsh and they obviously know their own stock so it might be worth giving them a call: https://www.cotswoldseeds.com/seed-info/lucerne-practical-guidei

I agree. Here's the link: http://stoves2.com
