Perma culture

I am new on this site. Have been interested in ways to do things different then the normal standards.
I am wondering if there is a primer on permaculture. I have idea of what, but am missing key things about it. I am terrible at reading off of computer screen, seems I tend to skim read more then I should.
If anyone could lead me to the nuts and bolts of things would appeciate it. I found this site on account of the Rocket Stove Mass heaters, and would some day love to build one. Thanks.

The core textbook is Mollison's  Permaculture, a designer's manual.. By Tagari press.

Thanks for replys. Seems in some of the searches, there is alot to it. Maybe cause a guy would have to relearn what he has learned in the past.

ytram, another book that is very well thought of is Toby Hemenway's Gaia's Garden.

Sooner or later, you will probably want to read Mollison's bible, but Toby's book is a very comprehensive start. Also, be sure to check out YouTube for permaculture videos. There's a lot of them.

This series is particularly good from the horses mouth so to speak...
