Is it possible to compost labels that have acrylic coating?  Or is acrylic coating in a compost pile a no-no?

I would advise against it. For example, when I buy produce I peel the sticker off before the peels or rinds get composted. Occasionally, one slips by, and I find them in my compost looking good as new.
