Is it reasonable to expect that a decent operator can dig out a pond 50 ft wide and 100 ft long and 8ft deep in a single week with nothing but a cat 305 excavator and a case international front end loader? Ground is mostly clay.

I don't know if we have any heavy equipment operators that frequent the ponds forum, you might want to try the building forum.
