hugelkultur with palm trees?

I wonder if anyone has tried hugelkultur with palm logs. Can't always find hardwood around here, but can usually find dumped palm trees with a little effort.

It should work just fine.  You should be able to use any woody material to make it.  If you search for hugelbeet on google you can find more about it.  You have to translate most of it. Since they have been building these things for quite a while in germany.
