We own a 40 acer homestead surrounded by national forest north of Kettle falls. Our property has some awesome views of the Colombia river valley. We're offering free RV, tiny home, urt, space in exchange for help with the day to day work around the homestead. Things like feeding moving livestock, building, canning, harvesting, planting, planning installing alternative power systems, running new fence lines. The entire property is off grid, this doesn't mean we don't have power and water it just means we have those things in limited supply since we have to create them ourselfs. Your welcome to tie into our systems near the main house or we can lend you a generator and you can chose any space on the property you like. Your welcome to bring your own livestock and pets if you like. This could be a great opportunity for anyone thinking of trying their own homestead, it offers you a chance to try out the lifestyle for free without having to invest a ton of money into your own property and you'll get some practical experience. We have pigs goats ducks chickens dogs cats. We're putting in swells and planting tons of fruits berries and vegetables this year. We also plan to share any harvests we take in while your here with you. Please text with any questions thanks

Could you add a few photos of the place so interested people would know what you have on site (at least a view of somewhere) and do you have RV, Tiny Home(s) or yurts on site, or is it just space for someone to put their own supplied one? That's not clear. Since you are off grid, does this mean composting toilet or even outhouse?  What animals do you have on site right now? How long is someone welcome if they are contributing? Do they get any sort of tie into the place if they stay for a long time? Any thing prohibited (tobacco, alcohol, etc)? Is the land mostly forest, mostly pasture, mostly just plain in need of help? Please give more details, thank you.

Edit to add: water source? Backup water source? How is the road to town or is it a lot of imagination and heading elsewhere will be difficult and not often?

Hi Deb,
Ok I'll try to answer your questions in the order you asked them.
There's a lot more info at this link including pics. https://spokane.craigslist.org/prk/6243576375.html
We were planing to offer just the space for the urt, or RV, for someone to bring in there own, however there is an RV here on the property we could let someone ues.
We are off grid but that only means we make our own power, we have all the modern conveniences, including flush toilets, jacuzzi tub, laundry room, full kitchen, even a 50 in tv. All of these thing would be available for someone here on the property to ues free of charge.
We currently have 5 goats, (nubian and fainting) 3 IPP pigs, 7 dogs, 4 cats, and over 100 birds, chickens and ducks both layers and meat birds.
We're open to any length of stay, but we're really looking for people that wish to stay 6 months or more. And we're open to long term stays, anyone that works is welcome to stay as long as they like.
I'm not sure what you mean by " ties" but anyone here and working gets feed everyday and can put a portion of every harvest into their own frezers or jars. Our long term hope is that people will start here on our land and ues that time to save some money and learn enogh homesteading skills to go out a buy thier own near bye piece of land to homestead. This will allow us to start a share network for the big tools like tractors, heavy equipment, and harvesting implements. We could also provide plant starts and baby livestock along with any other help we can to get your own local homestead up and running.
No you wont find any stupid rules here like no drinking or smoking. Your welcome to do whatever you want here as long as you put a little work in each day.
The land is forested mountains except the areas we have cleared for development. We're bordered by the colville national forest.
We have 13000 gallons of drinking water storage and more water storage for animals and irrigation. And yes there's at least 3 backup plans for everything here including water.
We are secluded with 4 mi of county maintained dirt roads and 2 mi of our private dirt roads between us and the nearest blacktop road. The nearest store is 15 mi from the property and that is a gas, liquor, and pot shop. Wal mart, north 40, sears Safeway, and 3 hardware stores are in colville about 25 mi from here. Town is about half an hour travel from here. And even in winter town is accessible after we plow our 2 mi road.
Hope this was helpful and feel free to text or email any more questions. My name is Ryan pH 850-573-8988 email rollingwithr@yahoo.com

Thank you very much for the update and your message about it too. This ought to be a great help for others considering your offer. I have made my stake on two acres so I'm anchored here, but it does sound very nice. Good luck.
