Just read, "Tips and Strategies for Direct Farm Marketing Success," in Acres, Vol 40, No 5. The author wrote that the rule of thumb today is to give 4 of every 10 hours to marketing (a lot!) Some tips they went through were to make business cards, a good roadside sign, keep a record of buyers and their purchases, use the local media, and make a one-page handout for customers at point of sale.
