We have a shrub in our garden gifted many years ago. It is a wonderful plant, flowers are highly fragrant (lemony but also a bit sweet), a constant stop for butterflies and tolerant to our clay soil. It just recently began flowering. May anyone help me to identify it? Thanks

Take a look at Genista monspessulana. Looks similar, native to your region.

Google search returns more information how to eradicate than to grow. Invasive and nitrogen fixer. I like it.
