Opportunity for shared homestead in the Foothills of the Canadian Rockies    The goal.  To make the farm sustainable and provide market garden , pastured meat  in a food desert area. We are focused on permaculture and organic growing. Some of our future projects are building a new winter poultry coop (straw bale ) (2018 ) winter greenhouse with a compost pit heat capture system. (2019) Ideally situated between two cities. Forty minutes one way forty five the other.

I am 54 retired female. I wanted out of the rat race. So when I retired I bought 160 acres. At that time I had my parents here as well as my four children. Sadly our fourth generation passed last year.  I now share my 3000 sq foot house with other like minded individuals. Presently we are breeding purebred heritage breed chicken and ducks. We sell hatching eggs, day olds , laying pullets and starter flocks. We sell handcrafted soap and bath products as well as vegetables and fruits. We are looking to expand into heritage breed pastured pigs and highland cattle. We have a saw mill and mill our own lumber.  I have a couple bedrooms open if you interested in trying the homestead life...or perhaps just reside in the rural countryside.
