Heartland Sweetheart or Oval oven door spring replacement

Dear Folks,
I am trying to replace the door spring on my Sweetheart wood cookstove from the early 90’s that broke.
I bought a replacement spring but I can’t figure how to install it.
When the spring went I just heard a loud snap and didn’t even know there was a spring. Anyway I can’t see how the new one attaches to the door or how to do it.
