Worms living in anaerobic compost tea

I'm quitting my anaerobic compost tea set up, (upgrading to aerobic) and was cleaning out last years comfrey and nettles from the blue barrel that had been sitting there over the winter. I used a pitch fork to get the stinky leftovers out into the wheelbarrel to move it to the compost heap. And worms were in there! Living underwater! I know they can climb up barrels and stuff because i find them in odd places regularly.
Just wow! Murky water smelling of cow dung, there they are! Whatever is next?
Go worms!!
