My husband and I are a seeking a renter or couple  to share our 10 acre homestead in Royalton, VT. We are looking to rent out a room or two to an individual or couple who share in our values and would be excited about being a part of our community and this space.

We are a young 30s couple with a background in permacultue, conservation, and building and managing community living based programs. We purchased a house and 10 acres a year ago, and have been slowly building gardens and working towards the ultimate vision of a space where we can offer classes/trainings/learning and service opportunities. We are in the process of transforming our space to run trainings, programs, and community events/gatherings around conservation, permaculture/gardening skills, and more starting next spring.

The property is a beautiful wooded property with gardens and mountain views in commuting distance to both to Montpelier and the Upper Valley. The room for rent is a 200+ sf bedroom which is about 30 feet from the main home downstairs (separate entrance) with a second kitchen, laundry, sitting area/library, and bathroom. The room comes furnished if desired. You would also have use of our outdoor "greenhouse" shower, as well as access to garden space, land, woods, and trails.

Month to month rental to start, with the potential for a long term situation if a good fit.

We are looking for:

A person/people who is laid-back, community minded, considerate, and eco-conscious.

Someone who fits in well with our vision and personalities, maybe enjoys games, music jams, and creative projects.

A lover of fluffy cats (who may be interested in doing some long-term cat sitting this winter in exchange for reduced rent) is a huge plus!

Please email hebuckner@gmail.com for more information about us our space, pictures, price, etc.
