Research has shown that people like sweet things. The food industry is taking advantage of this "fact", and adding sweeteners to almost all products, in hopes that it will improve sales. If cane sugar was cheaper than HFCS, we would be complaining about too much sugar in our diets. I don't believe we can single out HFCS as a source of our nation's health problems...if it were banned, it would merely be replaced by a different sweetener. We are being "conditioned" to expect sweeteners in every meal. That is the problem.
