Yolanda, congratulations on starting such a wonderful adventure.
You might want to check out Kuffel Creek's YouTube channel--I especially like their videos, Growing Apple Rootstocks from Seed and Propagating Clonal Rootstocks. You can then graft whatever varieties you'd like onto your own rootstock.

I just throw them in the pool, logs branches and etc. Koi eat whatever sinks, remaining is devoured by insectivorous fish (we call it fresh water-silver fish - I don't have guppies). Logs remain in the water for about 10-15 days because I am lazy and they start to sink afterwards.

Pretty much what I was imagining--thanks!

Feeding the fish with logs full with insects is one option...

I'd like to know more about how to do that---throw it in the pond? hang it over the pond? Or...?

A countertop sheet-metal rocket stove?

I saw this image online in my wanderings and (finally!) hunted down the original reference at http://www.miprensacr.com/region-centroamericana-casi-20-millones-de-centroamericanos-usan-la-lena-como-fuente-de-energia-para-cocinar (or go to http://www.miprensacr.com and search "estufas"). You can translate the article from Spanish to English if you paste the web page URL into translate.google.com.

And, an Ecofogon with an oven.

Are these really rocket stoves?

I fell instantly in love when I saw the pics of Barry Howard's Micro Gypsy Wagon on Alex Pino's TinyHouseTalk. I don't bike much, but I instantly wanted to take a meandering, scenic week-long bike tour just to have (and show off!) a beautiful little Gypsy wagon like his.
