The yurt has been sold. Thanks for your interest.
Hi.

Not sure where to post this?

My wife and I purchased this yurt and placed it in Northern California (Oroville, Butte County) in 2011 second hand for $9000. It is a 24 foot diameter Pacific yurt with a newish Colorado yurts roof cover. We purchased a new side cover last June (2017) which cost $2,280 before we moved to Seattle. We have a neighbor using it for storage but had another nearby neighbor complain to code enforcement.... it has never been permitted, and has been fine for more than 7 years, but it's time for us to let it go. We have already dropped the price substantially in light of the situation, so please dont talk us down. We're including everything that's in the yurt - a nice woodstove worth $700, kitchen and bookshelves. I'd prefer the buyer to take everything that's in there and landfill/donate what you dont want, since I have nowhere to store things on my property.

I wont be able to assist in dismantling it since I am in Seattle (Wife is attending UW), but my neighbor can assist and I will be on call for any questions you have. I know that sounds scammy but I swear its not!

I'm living in a rental while I have 5 acres of land nearby with a yurt and an RV. I have been collecting the privet saplings that spring up everywhere around my rental so that I can plant them on my land as a wind break/nurse species. I am just happy to have free trees to put in the ground in an area that is pretty barren during the summer months in northern California. My hope is to use the roots of anything that will grow in my heavy soil as a pioneer for what comes next. I'll be happy to coppice it and utilize the biomass. I'd like goats eventually so I'm trying to get fodder trees in the ground. I also want to provide nectar and berries for wildlife. I read that ligustrum is beneficial to several species of lepidoptera.

I can remember Bill Mollison talking about a method of storing compressed air in his PDC lectures (http://www.powells.com/book/permaculture-design-course-13-disc-dvd-set-1110000041488)
He mentioned using a trickling stream flowing over a number of tubes and that somehow pushes air into a compressed air chamber. Oh.. I just found it as I was typing this!

Heey.

My wife and I have land in Palermo, which we are hoping to establish a permaculture farm on. We're currently in South Australia for a while. However, if you're nearby... Chaffin Family Orchards is north of Oroville - http://www.chaffinfamilyorchards.com/

Check it out!
