I think the amount of water and energy used in a "family cloth system is nothing compared to the energy,waste,and chemicals when using dry paper
But that's just me
Saves a ton of money too

Hi I'm new to permies and to permaculture
I'm down here in terrebonne parish
We are currently saving and looking for land in your general region basically anything north of lake pontchartrain will do
Until we move though I plan on doing a little practice in permaculture and genral growing
Anyway I just wanted to say hi

The flooding happens a few times a year. It generally drains fast but stays wet for a couple days
The land doesn't slope at all lol were completely flat
We are around 20 minutes from the gulf but we have fresh water here
And honestly if you dug down 2 ft you'd get water
We tried to do a raised bed garden about 2 years ago but it flooded , so when I ran across this method of raised bed I thought it might be a good idea. Since I already had plans to build up the garden to an extreme

I have a spot in my yard that floods in heavy rain
What are your thoughts on doing a hugelkultur bed in a spot like this?
