Hi Bristol,
I’m in Maine, and a recovering off-grid farmsteader, early-mid 40s.  I’ve worn myself out as a pioneer woman, truth be told.     I’m what I call “old school vegetarian”.  I am not vegan, but not into owning livestock either.     Are you into making music or just listening?
I’d be interested in meeting a new friend with shared interests.
I like culinary arts, animals and nature, music, arts/crafts and all the usual permaculture related stuff.
I used to be “progressive” but I’ve somewhat recently politically jumped ship for reasons I’d be happy to discuss over a beverage or a bite to eat.

Hiya Jonny!  I need some help.  I’m a being displaced from where I’ve been homesteading/caretaking in Waldo county, and moving to Kennebec county (thanks mom!) to restart my plant nursery/orchard/veg farm over there (and also to lick my wounds) and I’ll be needing some living quarters of my own (ASAP), a greenhouse, cat barn etc.  I’ve got a few physical injuries that have really put a damper on my personal ruggedness and ability to do the manual labor needed especially in regard to building.  Ouch my resilience!
Shoot me an email if you’re still around, interested, available. Firefishblue@hotmail.com

Help me start a forest farmstead/mini ecovillage. We'll grow mushrooms, elderberries, bramble berries, herbs, and everything else! Livestock will be limited to bees, and ducks (not for meat), since there are already so many animals in the existing forest. Let's build tiny, rocket mass heated natural dwellings. Let's thin unhealthy forest, and practice mycofiltration, restoration, remediation. Make maple syrup, hugel beds, build natural pools, and heat water with compost piles. We'll teach classes and workshops, feed people, make music. We will compost everything. Zone 5a, over 41" annual rainfall, 15ish acres of forest. One hour from Portland.
I'll be happy to go into further details if you want to PM me, and are serious rather than curious. Thanks!

I'm looking for this type of experience!
I could come out for a day (or two I can can camp overnight and bring my six year old. She's an experienced natural builder. My 12 year old may also be available to help if he's not with his dad.)
I'm not very close to you, but I'd totally drive up, and maybe even bring a strong and enthusiastic adult friend or two.

If wood chips are the best mulch for raspberries, Like Paul said, this seems like that would be an ideal place to grow garden giants (Stropharia rugoso annulata).

Does anybody have experience with these shrooms, or other fungi with wood chipped raspberries? How about berries, shrooms, and hugelkultur?
