Depending on your browser some will open a new page or tab and display the PDF. The screen may be blank for a while as it downloads. Some will only ask where you want to save the PDF.
When I klicked on the link it took some time for the cover image to load so if you have a slow service it may seem like a blank page if you are not patient.

Hi everyone
Thanks for the opportunity to have the free download of the Art of Fire via my dailish email. It's not working for me either....just blank...even after some time.
And as I log in to this site all sorts of odd things are happening.

So let's try a slightly different approach.

Was anybody able to download it successfully? I know I was able to download it without a problem. I think I clicked on the link and it showed up in my browser. And then I right clicked to save it to my computer.

For those that are having trouble, can you tell us which browser and operating system you are using?

I was able to download it successfully. I am using chrome. When I clicked on the link it opened in a new tab just fine. When I right clicked on the link and chose save link as, it saved to my computer just fine as well.

I downloaded it successfully on mozilla firefox. There was a brief blank screen while the pdf loaded and then when I downloaded it was very fast like almost instant. I have checked the download and it is all good. Thank you very much

I have windows 7.

I was able to get it working now. For this earlier browser you may need to hold CTRL + Click while using the link to open a pdf. (This is Windows Vista internet Explorer) A similar technique from very old windows operating systems like 95.

It worked fine for me. I use Chrome on a Windows 7 machine. I just right clicked the link and did a "save as..." and saved it to my Permies file - it simplifies things that way.

is everyone getting the rocket mass heater podcast gob alright?

some people had some trouble right after I sent the dailyish email, but I think that might have been because the file was so big and so many people were trying to download it. it should work fine now.

Hey all- Ms. Cassie resent me the link for the RMH gob, but still can't open it. I usually use my iPad or iPhone to listen. I googled info on openining zip files on "i" devices, and installed the app iZip- still no luck. I will try my laptop before the link expires, but hate dragging that around!
Thanks for any help- I'm definitely NOT a computer techie.

Are others having trouble with iPads or iPhones?

I think it might just be too big for them or something?

I've never used an ipad, although I have heard of some weird stuff. Like it won't touch an mp3 file unless that file comes from itunes. Not sure if it is true, but, to me, that would make an ipad seriously suck.

I haven't been able to load the RMH gob on my iPhone or iPad, but was able to on my laptop (HP Windows , just took a while. I listen while I'm getting stuff done, and I'll miss the ease of my iPhone or iPad while listening to these. Paul's other (single) podcasts were no problem to access, entertaining and informing me during many hours of hugeling and gardening.
Thanks Cassie, Paul, Erica and Ernie

I used the free app File Manager to download it on the iPad. It took FOREVER but it did work eventually. That was a huge gob!

Hey Permies,

First off, thanks for the links! I got the first one to play but the code for the 2nd seems to be wrong. I tried the code for the 1st one on the 2nd one's page too, but it didn't work either. Could you please take a look and let me know what's up?

Thanks, Joe

Hey Cas, Thanks for your help with this. I got the link to work tonight. It was a security setting thing that caused the problem.

Cheers!

Aweber (our email list server) and our web server for richsoil are having a bit of a hard time processing since so many people are trying to access the rocket mass heater manual. Just give it a while and try again.

If it doesn't work when you try again later on, please post here.

You might need to clear your cookies, and then try loading http://richsoil.com/rmh-manual.php again.

I've now downloaded the RMH manual twice, and it has been corrupt both times. I'll try again tomorrow, but I just thought I'd let you know.

I downloaded the manual twice, each time completing the full 16+MB. Both copies failed to open, with Adobe Reader returning an error message about a corrupted file that cannot be fixed. Will try again in the morning. Thanks!

I've been able to download the rmh manual about four or five times, and each time the file has been corrupted. Will post back in morning to see if it worked.

I've downloaded it three times, corrupt file all three times (with over an hour in between downloads). I tried opening it with Adobe, also dragged it into Chrome and IE, and neither of them would open it either. Downloaded in Chrome on a Windows7 machine. Thanks in advance for any solutions!

Oh, also, 1st post after lurking/learning for a couple of years. Yay?!?
