We've got some amazing developments happening with our dailyish freebies, and I thought I'd tell you about them!

All our dailyish freebies are going out to ALL the people on the dailyish email list!

How this works:

Every few dailyishes, a freebie comes tagged along with your dailyish. Go check yesterday's dailyish to see if you got a freebie!!! It'll be a like a little Easter Egg hunt (the world's lamest Easter Egg hunt, it's always at the bottom of the dailyish. You just don't know which dailyish!)

Click the freebie link, and you'll be taken to the page to download it. You don't have to download it right away. By clicking the link, you've "claimed" it and it's added to your "My Stuff."

Each dailyish freebie needs to be claimed within 48 hours. If you don't click the link, it'll go to the end of the dailyish freebie list. You'll still get it, it'll just take longer.

At any time, you can check your dailyish freebies!

Just follow this link: Daily-ish Freebies, and you'll be take to a page where you can check the status of your freebies. You'll see something like this:

We'll be adding more freebies, and hopefully even some epic premium freebies that are unlocked once you get all the non-premium freebies. Keep an eye on your dailyish emails!

This is all really our masterful plan to make you all listen to my ramblings in the dailyish email, bwahahahahahahaha! Ahem, I mean, the dailyish is a wonderful thing to be subscribed to so you can know about giveaways, giveaway winners, cool events, awesome threads. We have a wonderful team of volunteer dailyish writers that bring to you their favorite threads from around permies. It's a great way to know what's happening and find cool threads you might have missed... and to get freebies!!!

Did you check the dailyish titled "Sepp spring terrace; podcasts for new permies; PTJ podcast; Building a Better World book"? I found my freebie in there, but I don't know if it's the same for everyone.

When I clicked on it it said it was already expired.  :(

How long are the links good for?

PS - Brilliant idea for daily-ish retention.

48 hours, so it looks like you just narrowly missed it. But, keep an eye on your dailyishes, because there should be another in a few days, and then another a few days after that, etc!

"Stay logged in to your permies email" ?!!! I can't keep the internet up for more than a few minutes out here and am paying >$100/mo for it.

Oof.

Just another frustrating part of being out in the 'wilds' of Oklahoma.

Rural internet does stink sometimes! We have satellite, and while it's not as spotty as yours, it's still not anything to rave about.

But, being logged into your permies account shouldn't affect anything negatively. It doesn't drain internet to be logged in, and it makes it easier to get to permies because you don't have to load the log in screen. I avoid a lot of websites because it takes SO LONG to load the log in screen and then do the logging in. The worst is when I accidentally type in the wrong password and username and have to go through 10 minutes of logging in screens. Maddening!

Okay, I followed the instructions and I now feel like a fool because the freebie link expired while I was logging into permies.com. Is this some sort of joke being played om me??? Seriously, (and possibly helping with devious plots on world domination)^^^ Only mildy frustrating.

anyway, interesting idea, just seems like the temperature isn't right for the fruit to be ripe with it yet.

by the way was less than 60 minutes from the time I selected the link for freebie to the actual login to the expired notification. Just shy of 48 hour.  ?

Maybe you've found a glitch! Could you tell me which dailyish you found the freebie link in? I've been wondering if the 48 hours starts with when we send out the dailyish (which can take a few hours), or when the dailyish is sent out to the individual.

The freebies are a really nice thing of you guys to give out! I likely will not be getting them, as I have to wait for a break in work and the weather to get to catch up on my daily-ish emails. However, I think that is an awesome little extra you guys are kindly giving out to the community. Thank you so much!

Check again today. I just sent out a dailyish, and I'm wondering if the freebies went out with it, and if they're working right!

Thanks!

Does the part where it wants you to pay for it say something like

           Upgrade

??

And just above that is a video about skiddable structures?

So it sounds like the mechanics of it all is working fine.   We just need to clear up how to make it a bit more obvious where "the thing" is, and "over there is the upgrade stuff".

Any suggestions?

Not sure. Maybe the “details” would have been spelled out in the daily-ish e-mail that led to it?

Like: “you will get a 30 min video of ...”.

I don’t know. I’m not helping, sorry.

Yay! I'm going to go through all the future freebies and do the same thing, so it should hopefully always be intuitive as to where the freebie/download/video is.

Thank you for telling us, Larry! The link should last for 48 hours. I sent out the dailyish 12:51:23 on Feb 26th. It should, therefore, be good at least a few more hours.

Can you give me a screenshot of what you see when you follow this link https://permies.com/goodies/?

Thank you so much for helping with this!

EDIT: Scroll down to the skiddable structures one. They don't seem to go out in any particular order--so we never quite know which one will be sent out. But others have reported that they got the skiddable structures, so maybe you do, too.

Weeeeeird. Something's wonky here. My freebie screen looks the same as yours, but when I click on the skiddable structures link, it takes me to where I can watch the video.

I think I might need to call in Devaka to look at this, because I don't understand why you can't access it.

Something that was mentioned about 48 hours,... I am wondering if I click any freebies within the 48 hours consecutively, does it reset the 48 hour delay of not being able to access the links? I will help test that theory if it may help
