Hi,

My name is Bristol and I am a middle-aged boy with an open heart exploring the possibility of making a connection with a middle-aged girl (40s – 50s) who might be open to living in one of the most beautiful and rich places on this earth – coastal Maine.

I am progressive, professional, green, educated, financially secure, five-feet nine inches tall and have all of my hair.

I have land and a beautiful, modern, energy-efficient house that I want to share with a partner – the canvass is mostly blank and awaiting your divine touch.

I am a recovering gentleman farmer but open to limited endeavors.

I do not want to be tied to the homestead again, however; it’s impossible to find someone to farm sit when there are animals and production high tunnels – I want to be able to go places and do things in the summer.

I am mostly vegetarian and could, go, all, the, way...

but never vegan.

I believe in science – no anti-vaxxers.

My life:

Music
Music
Music
Birds
The ocean and it’s creatures
Sailboats
Organic gardening
Physical connection/touch
Being physically active

So you aren't friends with people who are not vaccinated?  Are you going to post a photo of yourself?

Hi Winslow,
Hi, I'm Barbara

I am an oldish but Genki woman with an open heart exploring the possibility of making (any kind of) connection with you -- a middle-aged boy (40s – 50s) who clearly is open to living in one of the most beautiful and rich places on this earth – coastal Maine.

I am progressive (I guess), professional but retired, green for the most part, and educated.
I have a BS degree, am financially secure for the most part, 3 inches shorter than you, and have all of my hair, such as it is. I do not and never have had a plethora of hair, anywhere.

You said, "I have land and a beautiful, modern, energy-efficient house that I want to share with a partner – the canvass is mostly blank and awaiting your divine touch."
Excellent! Please don't expect me to have divine touch. The gods have been gentle with me for the most part, but I hardly think I've been touched divinely.

I'm thrilled for you but curious about the land and house. Is it vast acres of land that need a manager to deal with it, or can you (and I?) manage it together? Is the house more like the apartment in Angela's Ashes or a huge hulking beast like Downton Abbey? Your description leaves much to the imagination.

You said, "I am a recovering gentleman farmer but open to limited endeavors."  So, you used to farm mostly for pleasure on a small plot within more land than you could manage? Help me to understand what you mean by gentleman farmer.

You said, "I do not want to be tied to the homestead again, however; it’s impossible to find someone to farm sit when there are animals and production high tunnels – I want to be able to go places and do things in the summer."
Um, Can you explain?

You said, "I am mostly vegetarian and could, go, all, the way... but never vegan."
Yes, I hear ya. I am ok with vege meals during the day, but I probably want something meaty at night.  Have you read Mark Bittman's VB6 https://www.bittmanproject.com/p/236239_vegan-by-day-glutton?  Vegetarian during the day, meat at night?

You said, "I believe in science – no anti-vaxxers." Yeah, this works for me too.

You said, Music, Music, Music
What kind of music? I like blues, some jazz, and a lot of 60's rock.

You said, Birds
 Any, Always

You said, The ocean and it’s creatures
I swim like a stone. But l love photos and stories about sea creatures, and most of them are pretty good eating -- hamaguri (in all its forms), kaki, tako, uni, ika, ebi, etc.

You said, Sailboats
See above. I have no experience on sailboats and assume that when the um, giant horizontal tree trunk comes across the deck, I will be tagged, crushed, and thrown overboard. If you are my hero, you will save me from the ravages of the sea.

You said: Organic gardening
I have much to learn, but when the media tells me that an independent survey of US organic land turns up 20% of it with "forever chemicals", then yeah, I'm a bit deflated.

Physical connection/touch
Where are the heart emojis when you need them?

Being physically active
As much as possible, but probably not as much as you mean.

Shall we continue, or have I exhausted you already?

Hi Bristol,
I’m in Maine, and a recovering off-grid farmsteader, early-mid 40s.  I’ve worn myself out as a pioneer woman, truth be told.     I’m what I call “old school vegetarian”.  I am not vegan, but not into owning livestock either.     Are you into making music or just listening?
I’d be interested in meeting a new friend with shared interests.
I like culinary arts, animals and nature, music, arts/crafts and all the usual permaculture related stuff.
I used to be “progressive” but I’ve somewhat recently politically jumped ship for reasons I’d be happy to discuss over a beverage or a bite to eat.

Not entirely sure how to navigate this forum/unsure how to reply to people who replied to my post - hope this works as intended.

Thank you very much for the wonderful and thoughtful replies to my post.

I am presently building a garage and I am beat, bruised and bloodied as I retreat into my house, in the evening - hands cramping shut.

Hopefully, the roof will be done next weekend and I will have the capacity to then reply individually to everyone.

If you were a tree, what sort of tree would you be? This tiny ad is a poop beast.
