The simplest and most accurate definition Imo is straw is made from grains eg.(barley, wheat) after they have been harvested of their seeds. Hay is usually referring to Alfalfa although it can have grasses in it. There is such a thing as grass hay. When using the term "hay" I usually find that it is referring to animal feed. Straws can be feed to animals if it is substituted with hay or something more nutritional.

Buy some coat hooks and mount them on wall studs across the room from each other. Make a small rope with loops on each end so that the rope is removable when done hanging clothes on them. Then use them as regular old coat hooks.

The issue I have had with bathroom vent fans is when the wind blows the built in damper flaps with the wind. In the cold of winter it sucks a lot of heat out when it does this. I made a rudimentary cover made from a plastic lid with adhesive velcro and a stick taped to it for retrieval. UGLY, but it works. I have seen a site that has baffles for situations like this and also for chimney dampers. I have never tried any of their stuff but have been tempted. I think it's called batticdoor. I have no affiliation with them.

Just living, breathing and passing gas effects the planet also. Everything we do affects the planet, but there is always a lesser of two evils. I'm no scientist, but a stove that uses less fuel and burns cleaner seems hard to beat. The one thing that does confuse me is that fires are mother natures way of cleansing. Forest fires put out a whole lot off smoke and other stuff into the air. Can you imagine if all the fires that were started by lightning just burnt until they ran out of fuel? That is the natural path of things though. How can the explain the effects of this?
