I use flipflops for both insoles and outsoles.  Glue 2 pairs of flipflops together and they give the best support my feet have ever felt.  They are very insulating too and last about 6 months with heavy daily wear.  I wonder if adding a rubber sole lining would increase the durability, so I am going to try it.  I think you are on the right track with woolen felted insoles, so I will try them to

When I downloaded this Freebie, the file will open, but there is no text, just a black screen. How do I fix it? Thank you for your time!

My initial ideas for book distribution (but these only work in missoula, so maybe we need better ideas for greater national success):

A church here has started a free library system I would love to fill with permaculture books.  Honestly I am overwhelmed by the info at this website, I honestly don't know where to start and am getting whiplash trying to look at everything.  I want to buy some permaculture books and start a food forest but don't know which book to start with

I have heard a rumor that some people used to make spinable fiber out of yucca leaves, and others make fiber out of either corn silks or corn leaves.  Is either rumor true? If so, how would someone go about doing that?

Brian Henry wrote:In Episode 5 of Victorian Farm 6 part BBC TV production they show a bicycle powered sheep shearer that the patron of the original estate contrived to make the job easier than hand cranking. You can see the episodes online but it was interesting to see a turn of the century bike powered equipment... he did break a sweat but clearly so much more efficient than hand crank and smoother operation vs pauses at top of crank wheel.

I went and watched that episode immediately after reading this post. I was facinated at the entire setup!!  I shear my sheep by hand, then again I only have 4 to shear.  That bike powered contraption looked fun to use, but I will stick to my shears.

Have yall ever seen the video of the guy who would ride around town while washing his clothes in a little tub that connected to the back wheel of his bike?  The clothes would agitate as he rode!

I am wanting to build a cob doghouse.  I have a mutt who loves flipping, standing on, and tearing up any doghouse we give her, so I am hoping one built into the ground will be fairly mutt-resistant and warm
