Hey Rosie,
38 F here and I've been wanting to go to Scotland since 2022.  All my people are still working soul sucking jobs that don't have leave, money, or desire to go with.  Was nervous to go by myself but it's on my bucket list.  I applied for a couple of Wwoofing posts but haven't gotten any responses:  https://wwoof.org.uk/en/hosts
Have passport and would love to travel all up and down that country and then return and take my camper to warmer farms in the states.  Let me know if you want company abroad.
Thanks!
Kristen
Hey Tim,
I am getting ready to leave OH soon in a camper.  Some places aren't open to parking a camper, but I'm downsizing all my belongings and there's only a few things I want to take, and it's nice to have a little refuge until communal buildings are erected.  I have been moonlighting at some farms for 2 years after I quit my office job.  I posted awhile ago and got some great responses, but those lovely humans were in colder climates.  I like designing and planning and enjoy animals.  I'd really like to try hemp structures and green houses.  I got my design certificate 2 yrs ago but would like to actually use it.  I like to make salves.  I enjoy cows, goats, chickens, ducks, and bees.  I would prefer to not have to deal with pigs.  I'm veering away from meat, and don't want to be put into a butchering position.  I want to be a part of an open-minded community and like to help.  On the property I'm leaving behind, I've planted gardens, a bee yard, helped build a chicken coop, run, log kiln, and sided a barn.  This applies to any of the respondents as well.
I respond well to texting 330-462-8804
Thanks,
Kristen

Hey,
We have the same dream.  Your values align with what I've been trying to transition to.  How much are the other parcels going for? Do you have a link?  I've been moonlighting at different farms for 2 years but want to be around like minded people without a million rules.  I plan on living out of my camper for a minute, so I'm looking for warmer climates.  I have been looking in AL, AR, AZ, TN, due to year round growing season.  I'd like to move to a quieter place and practice without having to pay a monthly stipend with others structures.
Thanks,
Kristen
Hey Joyce,
I am very interested in helping you.  I wanted to stop in West Virginia to reconnect with my family's roots.  I would likely head out in Feb or March depending on the weather.  I'm coming from Ohio.  I have a little camper.  I'm trying to figure out where I want to live long term and I'm free as a bird.

Thanks for all the links, Riona!  A bunch of different possibilities!  It'd be neat to nomad for awhile.
Jim & Laura, I'm really excited about visiting before the camper is done after this patch of weather breaks.  Your setup is exactly what I had hoped to experience and it's so close.  I'd like to call you soon, because you're only 20 minutes away.  I don't need to camper for that.  I really look forward to meeting your peoples.
For others that want to vagabond, my cousins showed me an app called iOverlander that shows a bunch of helpful sites all over the US.
Thanks for responding!  Thanks for being open and existing!

Hey all,
I've lurked on this community for awhile, and I am officially fed up with my dormancy and isolation.  I sold my house in 2021, quit my stressful full time job in 2022, and took some time off.  I've been sitting around waiting for an opportunity to go travel.  I waited around for friends to be ready to do the same, and it's a dream for them, not an actionable outcome.  I want to contribute to a self-sustaining community.  I want to help tinker and grow.  I have a Permaculture certificate, an MBA, a BA.  I have been a beekeeper, enjoy husbandry, worked in a greenhouse and on a farm.  I can help with candles, salves, canning, etc.  I was a cook in the military- so I can batch food.   I bought a camper and am renovating it.  In 3 weeks, it should be me and perhaps a golden doodle on the road. I'm trying to decide whether or not to leave him behind, but he's really sweet and we've bonded. I want to be a part of a community and help with projects that will help me reconnect with Earth again.  The only thing I'm not down for is butchering stuff- sorry but that's not my wheelhouse, no judgement.  I'm trying to get past the fear of the unknown, travelling alone, while also having a little bit of a plan.
Please let me know if you have a spot for a thirty something female with a camper, I'd really like to be somewhere warm where I can feel helpful.
Thanks for your time,
Kristen
