I will barter a piece of land for some help on my farm. Need help with fence & kennels, patching things, just general stuff. Nothing too heavy. Just can't do it alone. My son helps when he can. I live in WV.

hello my name is Lisa Lawrence and I'm very interested in helping out at your farm.

right now I live in Charleston South Carolina and I currently work as a bookkeeper but I long to go back to farm life.

I worked at a cattle farm in Westport New York for a while as a volunteer. I absolutely loved it but they only needed someone for a few months. I am looking for long term.

I also like the idea of maybe getting some land for myself.

please let me know if you are still looking for someone. thank you so much!

Joyce, a route you may want to take is by signing up with the WWOOF organization, there are several similar organizations as well. WWOOF, Help-x, and Workaway. You provide food and shelter for folks in exchange for help, the trick is to be very up front with everything and don't try to sugar-coat it... However, I would keep the land/trade thing under my hat until you met the right person. We've had SO many great volunteers here over the years, it's been awesome! It would also give you a wonderful opportunity to interview folks for the ad you just placed, if someone seems like a good fit after spending some time with them, then you can make them your offer! I worry about someone being less than honest showing up for your ad, looking to get some land and not being really great to have around, if someone thinks they're going to get something, they can put on a mask for a while and fool us into thinking they're not the person we hoped they were, but by having someone show up just to work and help out with no mention of "free" land, I think you would get a much better type of neighbor out of that deal...

Good luck!

How are you guys doing out there? Was you successful finding help ? Tell us more about your permaculture progress and if you need any more help. I would like to know if you guys are thriving yet, what were your most difficult resources to gather?

I’m interested in this barter offer.
I have a 17’ RV home I would like to convert to a tiny home on a piece of land.
I would be ready to start the barter immediately.
I’m currently in the state of:
Washington-
Can travel on short notice with my RV-
30-60 days upon an agreement...

Hey Joyce,
I am very interested in helping you.  I wanted to stop in West Virginia to reconnect with my family's roots.  I would likely head out in Feb or March depending on the weather.  I'm coming from Ohio.  I have a little camper.  I'm trying to figure out where I want to live long term and I'm free as a bird.
