It can't hurt to try sprouting the grape seeds. You may not get a plant the has fruit like the parent plant. It may be inferior, or it may turn out to be the best grape ever.

For plums, you can plant them now if they got enough chill hours. Also, you can gently crack them and plant the almond-like seed, which will likely sprout with or without the chill hours. I have about a dozen going now, but I kept them in the fridge for a few months over winter. Again, you could end up with better or worse fruit than the parent.

Mulberry is very easy to root from cuttings. I've got a dozen going right now in perlite using rooting hormone powder. I rooted cuttings in potting soil last summer also.

I can't help with your land search but once you get settled I'd be happy to give you some mulberry cuttings. I have both red/black and white mulberries. Mulberry is easy to grow from cuttings. I'm located in Mustang.

You should be able to grow blackberries, peaches, plums, apricots, pecans, hickory, walnuts and lots of other stuff. There's also sand plums if you want another native fruit. It can be harsh here in the cross timbers, but lots can be grown here as well.

Moved onto 1 1/2 acres just west of the Oklahoma City metro area last August. Fall planted some fruit and nut trees right away. Looking to add other guild layers this year. Though I've never done permaculture per se, I've been gardening my whole life and have had edible backyard landscapes at previous houses.
