An ultimate repellent is a mixture of J&J baby oil and vanillin. Works on humans, even works on dogs.

You can wash the soil off, but to protect roots after it, you may want to use liquid (sour-creal like) mud. It is a common practice.

They are going to be allergenic, I am afraid.

As automatic shooting systems are illegal smell is your best bet.
You need some kind of a predator (dog will do) and some kind of absorbing material (fabric?) to be soaked in its urine.
Another option is imitation of birds (falcon etc) (sometimes even picture on the wall will do).
Also, the recording of an attacking bird of pray works well - if your neighbors do not mind.
Good luck.

P.S. No idea what can be done with deer.

I had similar experience with coffee. A complete failure

You can grow wine caps on a mix of woods. Just add some straw.
Do not mix strains of mushrooms though, they are like a Highlander: there should be only one
The main problem as I see it is a location: Utah is hot and you need to do a research, googling up "wine caps die at temperature..." or something like it.
Hope it works for you.

You can inoculate the wood with eatable mushrooms strains too

You need to provide some additional info, like size of the property, climate, your preferences and amount you are willing to spend.
Like if you have no funds to spend, suggesting that you dig a pool and start fish farming wouldn't be a good idea, right? In the same time, if you want to do it, you will be able to put the "clay" you dig out to raise the rest of the land.
Also, mushrooms (as you raise them essentially off the ground, so they don't depend on soil quality, and you can use waste to raise the land).
There is a road nearby as I can see, so make sure pollution is low. Or else try building storage space or farm store there - again, depends on funds you have. Or at least dig ditches and make sure water goes off your land, not on from the road and to your land.

To call it an experiment you need to take into consideration too many factors. For example, constant flood will have less water circulation and therefore, less oxygen in water. Unless aerated. And so on...

Great idea. I got a question though. Should you create a mechanical barrier so that this fish can not eat roots of your plants (in case your setup allows roots to dip into the water)?
