This thread warmed my gay lil forest fairy heart <3  Figured it'd be a good place to introduce myself.  I'm Alex.  Been traveling and working with permie farms and homesteads for quite a few years now and still searching for a place to call home.  Would love to be a part of or even form a queer intentional community in the country/wilderness somewhere.  Help heal the land, get the ecosystem back to flourishing, get some animals, sing and dance and frolic in meadows.. ahh a boy can dream.  If anyone knows of any already existing communities like this or just wants to be friends on this strange beautiful journey called life, shoot me a message

Howdy  My name is Alex.  I am finishing up my permaculture design course and will have my certification at the end of August. My dream is to build an intentional community that is part permaculture homestead, part sanctuary/retreat for queer and other marginalized folk, or anyone who wants to live a simpler, happier life taking care of momma nature and eachother.  Thing is- I don't feel like I have all the skills or resources I need to realize that dream just yet.  I'm so grateful to have found this forum- and would love to hear from you if you have similar dreams and want to co create together, or if you know of any permaculture, farm management, or homesteading internships, jobs, work trade, etc.

I am 27, physically fit, love to learn and work in the great outdoors, have a couple years of farm experience in various climates, and soon to have my permaculture design certificate.

A little about me, I love to grow things, care for animals, frolic in fields, sing, dance, hike, adventure, learn, and love. I have a tiny lil well-trained chihuahua named Tucker.  I am queer so an LGBTQ friendly environment is super important to me.  I am definitely a mountain guy but am open to different climates for the right fit.  Thanks so much for reading and I hope to hear from some other awesome permies, even just to be friends

Sounds like you've had some time building good experiences so far and found a worthy goal to work toward!

I feel as though I've read some other folks building or looking for gay permie communities, but I don't know the current status. You could probably search through the community or singles listings and find them.

Good luck and share your permie experiences with us as you go!

Well shucks thank you, I'm gonna do just that!   Already posted in the singles section as well haha.  Thank you for the warm welcome so glad I found y'alls hidden gem of an online community :)   Silly question probably, but do you have to "quote" the person you are replying too for them to be notified or do you typically just reply to the entire thread?

Thank you Tereza!   Holy cow can I empathize with that.  I like snow for a couple weeks in december and then I'm ready to twirl around in meadows again lol. Where were you from originally and what made you take the big leap?  I've been traveling the US trying to find somewhere perfect for me but I think my definition of perfect is, well, too perfect XD

Howdy beautiful people!   My name is Alex, I am a 27 yo gay male from Southern Indiana, but have been alllll over the country now on a journey to find "home". After years of travel, I have realized that really it's the people that make the place.

That being said, I am almost done with my permaculture design program and will be certified in a few weeks!  I am looking to relocate somewhere beautiful and wild with a preferably long growing season so I can, over time, build a homestead and sanctuary for animals, plants, and queer/marginalized/less fortunate people to come heal with nature and each other.  It's been my dream for as long as I can remember but I don't want to do it alone!  In todays world more than ever I think it's so important to support and uplift eachother, and to be a "home" for each other.

If this resonates with anyone, please don't hesitate to reach out <3 Or if anyone has any advice at all on how to find like minded community, how to meet other permies, and hidden gems in the US where I should consider moving (just not super cold lol) I would be so appreciative.  xoxo!

I am very open minded but mostly, I am seeking romance and partnership with other gay men

Important relational qualities for me are -  shared passions (nature, homesteading, etc), sexual chemistry (often lol), compassionate communication, trust and commitment, and a BIIIIG heart!

A little about me, I am almost done with my permaculture design program and will be certified next month.  I'm at the point in life where I have traveled a lot and want to start laying down roots somewhere beautiful with hopefully a long growing season :p  I am a country boy and romantic at heart and love long walks in the woods, stargazing, slow dancing on the front porch etc.   i'm a vegetarian, animal lover, dancer and singer, meditator, plant medicine enthusiast, a bookworm in the sheets & a freak everywhere else  hit me up here or on insta @ faedaddy
