Thats the beauty of medronhos, just cut it right back to the base it will grow right back. Fruits take time but its pretty all stages. I heard best way to be productive is to take root stalk. There are other ways but thats the best way.

Hi Burra, have you thought of Medrohnos strawberry trees, they are good fire retardant barriers. They also grow back easy. Im about to take out many and the root stock is what you want to plant. If interested let me know. Best of love on the recovery, its never easy

Hi Ted its been a bit, hows it going? I wanted to talk again but cant find your email. You ever think about supplying architects with plants? With your primary water and road routes to babylon could be an idea. I just talked to one in LA who wants olive trees, in portugal i can get many could be a great convo.
Where abouts are you? Im a guy, but think similar, sometimes i ponder what if we owners joined and made a network of dreams spots. Vacation styles. Join together for vacation community, i dunno sometimes i think alot. Im in central Portugal Nazare n Alcobaca.
Hi everyone, i am trying to find a company or rather a person because i lost their contact info. All i remember is his name was Antonio and he had a permaculture design company and was based in Porto. Thought maybe he might be on here.
Earlier this year i had somone at the property who put an ad on a facebook group to sell an old hymer for parts. Antonio put a deposit and has not contacted me since. I have tried contacting the person who posted the ad originally but no luck.

Since i dont use facebook i cannot get on this particular forum, "hymerclassics"i even tried signing up to facebook but my id was rejected, cant believe i even tried but after a few frustrating hours i gave up and came here.
I really want to get in touch with Antonio so he can pick up his parts,
hopefully someone knows him here
Thanks

John Chisolm wrote:What a beautiful place and great location! I traveled all over the country last July. If you talk to the gardeners down in the algarve, they shake their heads and tell you how dry it is, and poor the soil. I’m looking at moving to the center of the country myself. Seems to be the best climate and location to me. I hope I can find some place like yours!
I’m hoping to get back over there and see the big waves before the season is over.

Hi John I travelled the whole country and i agree the center is the best. This area is very special and tgere are big waves up to April, some of the march storms have brought some huge swells. If you need info let me know, happy to help. Im pretty good at knowing the sweet spots. Love going for drives down the less teavelked routes

Good New Year to all doing this program.
I joined a few months ago just to search community out there online. Common interest threads n such. You can read my posts there are not many.
Over the last weeks reflections I have decided to put out an opportunity to various spots. I like permies so here ya go.
In October I lost my Dad. He was the last of my Family and there is no one bloodline that I will be leaving any property to. When I was at my lawyers doing a will I realized my special spot better go to someone who appreciates it.
For a quick background I purchased 7 acres in the center of Portugal for my Parents to retire. It was a slow project but in a great spot. 4 years ago my Mom Died so my Dad and I continued. Then covid ensued caused the chaos we all felt. He got sick from a medical clinic visit and passed. Sad times.

We never started the final plans of cottages and now I am looking for a next generation that I could provide a unique possibility for their generational wealth. Its kind of a blank canvas with good infrastructure.

We finished a great workshop that is now a cottage fully operational offgrid. I live here now.

There are so many things to discuss with anyone interested. My question is.. Is, anyone interested in moving to Portugal and making a commitment to a long term plan?

My location is 3 kms to Nazare in the Alcobaca region. Silver Coast Portugal.

My Father told me a story about trying to a make a sale in a rural agriicultere coop. The route he took for sales calls were out in every part of the east coast Canada and USA. Sometimes the days and weeks blended and the sales pitch became mundane....meet a 100 land 10. Keep it simple and straight forward.
Well one day somewhere south of Georgia he entered a coop and asked where he could speak with whoever did the purchasing for the establishment.
This was a big operation and hopes were very high. A young lady met my Father at the front of a large hanger styled door. She led him into a nice little office that had a large window overlooking the trees that lined the way to where the fields that carried the sales fortune that could be had.
After 5 minutes a large man entered the room looked out the window winked and asked my Father to sit down and offered him a coffee. A pleasant start.

The conversation led to talks about multiple crop yields per year, harvests, best sales talk ever

Its closing time and both men looked at each other with promise. My Father asked the farm manager if they could make a deal. The manager stood up tall looked again out the window, winked once more and said, well sir i will just need to speak with my branch manager.
They shook hands, and as my Father raised from his chair to leave the room this is what he saw, a bird and a crazy man both in front of him the whole time.
