Joel Buchannan, where in South Georgia are you located? I have retired and looking for Land or a partner or friend to share knowledge with.  I love rural living and camped for 2 years during the pandemic in rural Georgia.  I dont like crowds, going to the store for things that i can grow make or do without.  I have watched so many shows on homesteading etc and know the ups and downs.  Dont know that i want to be TOTALLY off grid but as little as possible.  Would love to can veggies and fruit, make pickled green beans and just pickles.  Go out and pick plums apples and peaches and make jellies and preserves.  Learn how to stich a quilt.  Make candles to use at night, and share cooking jokes and good conversation.  I am new to the site so this is my 1st posting.. i hope i did it correctly.  Theres so much i want to lean and want someone with me when i learn it. Hit me up i would love to hear from you.  Right now i am looking in the Washington Elberton area for land.

Karen, What part of South Georgia are you looking?  i have a couple of friends who like myself are retired young and want to grow and live off the land.  There is nothing like a community of neighbors and thats what i have here but its being threatened with development.  currently i have 5 acres of land east of atlanta and all my neighbors have about the same.  I am ready to take the leap of faith and set up roots somewhere more rural.  I raise chickens have some fruit trees etc and a good size garden.  Would like about 20 acres or so myself and having like minded neighbors would be great.  Let me know how things are going and maybe i can help you from here even if we cant make it work.
