Today I made zucchini bread! I always throw in chocolate chips because my kids love it!
I used this recipe
https://www.reneeskitchenadventures.com/2019/09/chocolate-chip-zucchini-muffins.html?m=1

Some changes I make to the recipe is that I replace the oil with applesauce (homemade as often as possible) and I omit the walnuts, and I only use about half the chocolate chips they ask for.

Let me know if any of you try this recipe. it’s become a family favorite at my house!
So, I’m not a perfect dog mom. Much of the time Shadow (our dog) eats dry or canned dog food from the store. Sometimes I spoil him with canned salmon which he just loves!
But, he’s currently all out of the dry food and I’m low on the salmon so I decided to take the chance to make him a mix of people food that he could enjoy. I’m also hoping it helps control his winter weight gain if I keep making him these kinds of foods.
I made it with shredded carrots (about 4 cups), home canned chicken (1 pint), home canned pumpkin (half a quart), and brown rice (about 5 cups).
I took a bite of it and didn’t find it very tasty, but if I was hungrier I’d probably add some ketchup and call it good 😆

This was harder than I was ready for. Maybe it had to do with the fact that I’m out of shape 🤷🏼‍♀️ time to hit the gym I suppose.
This is an aspen in my yard that has been struggling for a couple years and needed to come down. My son and his buddy were my cheering squad. I’m pretty watching a tree fall down was the highlight of the week!

I’ve got a million sewing supplies as a quilter. And they’re only semi-organized. Until now!! I’m using a butter cookie tin like my grandmother used to use to store things in one place.
I have scissors, thread, scissor sharpener, straight pins, safety pins, needles, a thimble, a needle threader, thread picker, and a measuring tape.

The work site I’m supplying is my husband’s company vans. He helps run a small electrical company. There are 4 vans that travel to various worksites, mainly homes and small businesses.
I decided to make a safety kit for each van.
Each kit has a pair of gloves, protective glasses, 3 pairs of earplugs and a small first aid kit.

I’ve been loving crochet!!! I thought for sure I’d hate it, but I’m pleasantly surprised 😀
I made this dishcloth with the yarn I harvested from an old sweater. I used a double crochet stitch.

I was so excited to do this BB!! Over the past few years (since starting my own garden) I’ve realized just how important insects are to the process of growing my own food. Between aphid control and pollination, they’re vital!!
I found these untreated wood scraps at a hardware store clearance section. The wire is from an old fence. I used mostly hand tools to build it and let me tell you, my arms are so sore from hammering! I think my biceps are stronger than before 😆
The bugs I’m catering to are ladybugs(top), beetles or moths(middle) and solitary bees (bottom).
On the bottom of the hotel you’ll see a couple of large nails sticking out the sides. I’m hoping in the future to make something pretty to hang there to attract attention like some glass or wooden beads.

I’ve been meaning to do this for a while so I’m relieved that I finally got it done
Under the drawers was particularly nasty and I had to let it soak in vinegar water for several minutes.
As far as food waste, there wasn’t much. I found some little potatoes that I baked a little over a week ago that I composted. There was a partial bag of carrots that froze so I thawed them and gave them to my dog as a treat. (His favorite)
The yogurt had gone bad and I couldn’t compost it so I had to pour it in the garbage but I’m keeping the container to store more leftovers in the future.
I only used warm water and a splash of vinegar.

Edited to finish adding the photos. I accidentally submitted the post before I was done uploading the pictures.

Resubmitting properly this time. Thanks you SKIP team for patiently teaching me the ins and outs. Turns out, I’m not as fast as a learner as I used to be 🤷🏼‍♀️ #hitmythirtiesandmybrainismush
Anyways, this BB was an interesting experience. Using only the 3 gallon buckets of water made me pay attention to what I was doing. And using the dishwasher as a drying rack is pure genius!!
The buckets are gallon sized ice cream buckets. I had a pre rinse, soap rinse and a final rinse bucket.
The soap I used is Palmolive from amazon. The back of the bottle reassures that it’s biodegradable and responsibly made.

Submitting this one again with all the right photos in one place. Thanks to the SKIP team member who reached out to me and helped explain things to me.
This window screen is on my front window. The rubber elastic bit popped out of the little groove. Probably from the dog or the kids leaning on it at some point.
I used a hammer and a screwdriver (like a nail without putting holes in anything) and popped the elastic back in along with the actual screen material. It’s as good as new!
