A two-day course covering the essentials needed for an endlessly rewarding adventure.


 

This course has been specifically designed for people wishing to buy land upon which they intend to create a sustainable lifestyle. Whilst being a positive fulfilment of long-dreamt plans, this change of lifestyle can also seem quite daunting when you are suddenly having to recognise and accommodate your needs successfully. Official Permaculture Design Course


From the 19th to 27th of March 2011,
the official 72 hours Permaculture Design Course will take place in Varzea da Goncala, Aljezur, Portugal
The course follows a 72 hourset syllabus and leads to the internationally recognized Permaculture Design Certificate.


Tutor:

Lesley Martin was an organic grower and farmer in Cornwall for 20 years before taking a Permaculture Design course in 1995. She went on to take the Permaculture Diploma, with a 2 year teaching apprenticeship. After qualifying as a teacher in Adult Education she delivered Government funded Permaculture Training Courses throughout the South West of England before moving to Portugal in 1999.

The subjects covered include:
Ethics and principles
Learning strategies
Pattern in design
Bio diversity
Water in the landscape
Forests and trees
Soils
Climate
Buildings and structures
Formal/informal economies
Community development

The course includes a number of practical sessions and culminates in a 2 day design workshop.
