[center]From the 19th to 27th of March 2011, the official 72 hours permaculture design course will take place in Varzea da Goncala, Aljezur, Portugal The course follows a 72 hourset syllabus and leads to the internationally recognized Permaculture Design Certificate. [/center]
Lesley Martin was an organic grower and farmer in Cornwall for 20 years before taking a Permaculture Design course in 1995. She went on to take the Permaculture Diploma, with a 2 year teaching apprenticeship. After qualifying as a teacher in Adult Education she delivered Government funded Permaculture Training Courses throughout the South West of England before moving to Portugal in 1999.
The subjects covered include: Ethics and principles Learning strategies Pattern in design Bio diversity Water in the landscape Forests and trees Soils Climate Buildings and structures Formal/informal economies Community development
The course includes a number of practical sessions and culminates in a 2 day design workshop.
