the official 72 hours
Permaculture Design Course will take place in Varzea da Goncala, Aljezur, Portugal
The course follows a 72 hourset syllabus and leads to the internationally recognized
Permaculture Design Certificate.
Tutor: Lesley Martin was an organic grower and farmer in Cornwall for 20 years before taking a
Permaculture Design course in 1995. She went on to take the
Permaculture Diploma, with a 2 year teaching apprenticeship. After qualifying as a teacher in Adult Education she delivered Government funded Permaculture Training Courses throughout the South West of England before moving to Portugal in 1999.

Water in the landscape
Forests and
trees Soils
Climate
Buildings and structures
Formal/informal economies
Community development
The course includes a number of practical sessions and culminates in a 2 day design
workshop.
