This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the wood badge in tool care.

Tools are much more useful if they have handles.  Handles occasionally break and need to be replaced.  Let's learn how to make a handle! For this BB, you will be getting more practice in handle making by creating three handles for tools!

Tools handles that qualify for this BB are:
 - shovel
 - rake
 - pitchfork
 - snow shovel
 - spud

As an example, here is a video of someone making a handle for a shovel.

From the video description:
"Making a shovel handle is very easy with a draw knife, I really love the draw knife its a great tool."

To get certified for this BB, post three pics for each of the three handles you make:

  - pic of tool with missing/broken/inadequate handle
  - pic of new handle under construction
  - pic of tool with new handle installed
