This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the wood badge in Electricity.

In this Badge Bit, you will build a large articulating solar panel system.  One version would be the Solar Leviathan at Wheaton Labs:

Minimum requirements to get this BB
  - at least 40 square feet of panels
  - batteries and hardware to access the power (inverter, etc) sized appropriately to the panels and application
  - deploy and adjust to match sun angle at any time of year
  - collapse for transport or storms
  - does not need to be mobile but that would be nice

Points
  - also earns 20 points of Metal Working (Iron)

To show you've completed this Badge Bit, provide proof of the following as pics or video (less than two minutes):
  - the main parts your starting with
  - the articulating assembly at several points during construction
  - the panels and components installed
  - the finished contraption collapsed
  - the finished contraption unfurled for summer sun angle
  - the finished contraption unfurled for winter sun angle
