Living Woods is a quarterly magazine for everyone who loves woodland, trees and timber. So whether you dream of owning your own woodland, want to learn new and exciting woodland skills and activities or simply want to enjoy the therapy of quiet, green woodworking, Living Woods Magazine will show you the way.

The magazine was founded in 2008 by Nick Gibbs to provide a community journal for those who, like him, love woodlands and the outdoor life. In the following years it flourished and has proved a universally loved hub for woodland folks around the world.

You can find Issues 1-55 of the Living Woods Magazine

Nick Gibbs has also started a new magazine, all about working wood by hand! You can read more about it here: Quercus Magazine

In this issue, you will read about:

  • How to check your firewood is dry
  • Steve Haines' house build in the woods, using his own trees
  • Trees for Life campaign
  • Carving a ladle
  • Living in a Woodland Yurt
  • Five quick ideas for using coppiced hazel
  • Safer chainsawing
  • Sharpening from a 12v battery
  • and a lot more!
