This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Woodland Care.

Sometimes a big hunk of a tree just isn't a good fit for lumber related projects.  Too knotty, bendy or a rotten branch perhaps?  Let's do some rudimentary, large scale whittling and turn that log into something nifty.  Let's make a one log bench!

Here's one way to do it:

Minimum requirements:
  - Make a bench from one big log
  - At least 5' long
  - Log is not taken apart and reassembled
  - Needs either:
         - Back rest, or
         - Two arm rests
   - Seat is at least 15" off the ground

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The log you're starting with
  - Midway through with the tools you're using
  - Finished log bench with dimensions shown
