This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Woodland Care.

Sometimes a big hunk of a tree just isn't a good fit for lumber related projects.  Too knotty, bendy or a rotten branch perhaps?  Let's do some rudimentary, large scale whittling and turn that log into something nifty.  Let's make a pair of chairs out of it!

Here's one way to do it:

Minimum requirements:
  - Make two chairs from a big log
  - Log is at least 2' in diameter
  - Log is not taken apart and reassembled
  - Needs to have a back rest

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The log you're starting with
  - Midway through with the tools you're using
  - Finished chairs
