Two really nice bowls - PEM BB roundwood.wood.bowls

BB roundwood - wood badge
+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the wood badge in Round Wood Woodworking.

This BB originated as a duplicate of PEP: Carve two really nice bowls so you might be able to apply for that BB as well.

For this BB, you will carve two really nice wood bowls!

(source: Amazon)

Minimum requirements:
 - Must look nice enough that you could easily sell them for good money at an art/craft fair
 - Must be oiled with raw linseed oil, tung oil or some other natural oil to protect the bowls
 - Must be made with roundwood (no dimensional lumber)
 - No cracks
 - No electrically powered lathe
 - Wood grain is parallel to table surface (not a disc of wood)

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
- Your chunks of wood that you are starting with
- Progress about halfway through, with the hand tools you have decided to use for this
- List any power tools you used (Otis would love it if you only used hand tools)
- Show what you are oiling them with
- Oiling the bowls
- The final product
CAUTION! Do not touch the blades on your neck propeller while they are active. Tiny ad:
