This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the Straw badge in Metalworking.

Once you have animals and gardens you realize how often you have to get in and out of their enclosures?  Let's build a gate and latch that isn't just ornamental!

Here's a gentleman showing us a number of latch options:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgmKqjgFC8M

Minimum requirements:
  - Weld up a gate with a latch
  - Frame of the gate is homemade
  - Store bought mesh and filler for the gate is acceptable
  - Store bought hinge materials are acceptable
  - Latch is strong and can be operated with one hand or foot

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The project underway
  - The completed project
  - Details of the latch showing its operation

All praise hypno-ad
