somewhat of a hard figure for us as we cook 99% of the time on the
wood stove from october-april/may... So for us its more about avoiding using other means to cook with.
We use about 3 cords depending on the year. We are 49* parallel and also on the coast of bc. Around 1000SQFT. Mostly Douglas fir, including branches, and small amounts of Grand fir. Most of it actually is offcuts from the mill that I work at.
One of these days I will convince my partner to switch over to a vortex/walker stove. Currently what we use works ok for most of our cooking needs.
