As a thank you to permies people for helping with my youtube channel I want to host a live webinar that would be free for you guys to join in.

If there's enough interest.

What follows is a paul style poll.  Each post has a topic.  Thumbs up for the one that you like best.

And while you're here - apple poll for the day of week

It is highly likely this would happen mid to late morning Pacific Time.

If there is enough interest, I'll put something together for the spring.

Growing textiles in small spaces (like in an apartment)

Maybe this should be renamed

How to grow yarn in an apartment or small space?

(hint, I really like this one - I hope you choose it.  It's at the top for a reason)

What time of day GMT would you plan to have it? That would affect a day selection for me, and perhaps others.

Morning Pacific time.   Not sure yet when,  but 11 am is possible since my brain is at its best about then.

I'm sorry, but I am confused. Every time a click on the apple it goes to a negative apple. And I don't see the topics we are voting on. Guess I'm just not with it but I can't figure out how to vote. Wednesday would work best for me. Thanks

If the vote went through, it show a negative apple to let you unvote for that option in case it was a mistake.

Am I correct?  All the posts from R Ranson at the top are the options for the free webinar we need to vote for.  I think we use the thumbs up for voting for the ONE we prefer.  AM I correct in this?

I don't mind if people vote for more than one topic.

I am welcome to more suggestions for topics and if people like them, feel free to give them thumbs up too.  But I won't necessarily be doing them this round as this will be my first webinar and I want to be completely confident in the topic while I learn the logistics of hosting a webinar.

It helps to give me ideas on what people are interested in for the future.

Hey R- I think you could use this vote thing as a way to prioritize several videos. If we lived closer to each other I would welcome an opportunity to have you as a fiber and weaving mentor. By providing videos and other published materials I can almost reach that level of your knowledge.

Since I am interested in several fiber animals and at least 2 fiber plants I welcome any new information and instruction.  The animals in no particular order; alpaca,  rabbit, goat, silkworms and sheep. The plants are flax and nettle.

I've voted by thumbs up on the 2 I'd be most interested in.  I look forward to seeing what wins !

I vote for How to grow yarn in an apartment or small space.  I also like the idea of harvesting wild plants for fiber.  How about identifying plants that offer food and fiber?  R Ranson, thank you for offering your knowledge.

It's a good idea.

Being an extremely shy person, I don't know how much I would like creating a live webinar, so this might be my only one.

But I do rely on permies people for a lot of my confidence with these projects, so if it is well received, I might be persuaded to do more.

One idea is, if I do make several, they would be available for permies members free for a limited time, then moved to the digital market as a source of residual income.

You could practice with just one person first. I'm up for that.

Wow!  There are a lot of votes.

Thank you everyone.

Keep the votes coming - I can use this thread for later.

And suggestions for future topics.

And here is the thread for lerning how to make a webinar.  Because apparently, that's the next step.

I like all your topic ideas. I think growing textiles in small spaces is the perfect one to start with and it's also the perfect place to start for most of us.

r, did you do any sort of notification to respondents, or announce when you planned to hold the live webinar? I caught the replay probably within a day or so because I checked my youtube. It certainly seemed like not many were in live attendance. Maybe you skipped a big announcement hoping for a small live audience? I thought you did fairly well, and stopped being so nervous when you focused on the message.

I would have liked to have been live with the event. Darn.

I haven't done the big webinar yet.  Just the test one.  I'm looking at early-middle of March for the big event.  A lot more to prepare than I expected.  But it's looking good.

I'll definitely be announcing it in the Daily-ish email.  The link and info will probably be in the secret forum for those subscribed to the daily-ish.
