Hey Fellow Permies,
I hope you'll join me at the Mother Earth News Fair in Lawrence Kansas this Saturday and Sunday April 29-30, 2023.
More info at https://www.motherearthnewsfair.com

I will be hosting several hands-on natural building demonstrations at the Building and Energy Stage (see below for my schedule)

Meanwhile I want to invite you to special tour of a local off-grid, self sufficient Earthship-style house.
Please follow this link to register for the tour. Limited parking spaces are available so you must register
https://forms.gle/jVzBuZw5ur85Rgh68
If you would like to arrange a tour for another time please follow this link http://www.dragonflyprairie.com/bookings/

Register now for your rare opportunity to tour this newly built self-sufficient Earthship-style house right here in the Lawrence area.
This modern handcrafted 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 3000 square foot home is fully off grid and powered by the sun. Massive tire bale and earth walls and the sun work together to keep the house house warm in winter and cool in summer. A rain catchment system integrated into the gutters with two large cisterns buried next to the house provide all the water the house needs. State of the art systems provide solar electricity and waste treatment, with propane backup for cooking, hot water and emergency back up heating.

Throughout the home there are beautiful handcrafted floors and walls, plus bottle walls, built in planters, wood paneling, and a handmade walk-in shower and tub surround. The home is placed on a lovely 7 acre plot of land that has woods, a creek and a wide open prairie.

The owner/builder, Bill Ayers, runs One Family at a Time, a construction consulting business specializing in custom off grid solar passive homes. Bill and his wife Kim will be running tours of the home and have agreed to discuss how they might help out others to build similar homes.

The tour is free, but parking spaces and time slots are limited so sign up now. You will receive a confirmation email with directions to the house and instructions for your tour. This is still an active construction zone so please wear appropriate clothing and shoes.
