We have a Prius Prime hybrid plug-in sedan. When at home we plug in into our house electric which is off-grid solar powered.

Everytime we drive the first 20 - 25 miles is electric [from our solar system].

I wonder if I got a bumper sticker saying:  "Fueled by solar" or  "Solar powered" would that be offensive to anyone since it is a hybrid and it does consume gasoline when it's battery is low?

Since we charge it from solar power can I call it "Solar powered"?

My car-loving husband says "Powered by the sun" would not be incorrect.

Of course, by some interpretation, even our darn petroleum-fueled cars are "powered by the sun" - ancient sunlight!

I don't think any bumper sticker would make a prius more offensive than a prius normally is. Sorry couldn't resist. I' ll get in my gashog 4wd pickup an leave.

It might not be strictly, one hundred percent accurate, but it's certainly a good way to get people thinking.

Anyone who is offended had better be walking!

I have a fully electric pickup (conversion) it has a bumper sticker that says "Powered by 100% American made electrons", despite the fact that this isn't technically correct, nobody has ever complained about it to me.

Your vehicle IS solar powered, at least part of the time.

My Prius Prime is powered by windmills.  I guess they are spun by wind that maybe is moved around by the action of the sun?

I recently watched a video of Toby Hemenway where he mentioned that either the average American or the average person is currently using 7 years worth of solar energy each day due to petroleum, burning up thousands of years of accumulated energy each year. At some point beyond our lifespans, people will be forced back to a nearly solar/wind level of power consumption, it will be a brave new world for sure!

I'm trying to pedal my way to work more often than I drive for a 2019 goal, but with the imminent danger of being run over by distracted/angry drivers already a persistent concern, I won't be adding a sticker of any kind to the back of my bike any time soon. The fewer reasons they have for hitting me with 5000 pounds of steel the better. I've been hit by a car once at maybe 20-25mph and the police thought I was walking at first, my bike was thrown so far down the road. California drivers are at a totally different level of crazy speed and a day doesn't go by without a critically injured motorcycle rider/car collision.

There are no more "hours", it's centi-days. They say it's better, but this tiny ad says it's stupid:
A rocket mass heater is the most sustainable way to heat a conventional home
