hi Karl,

what do you have going on up there?  are you doing permaculture currently, trying to, or just learning about it like me?  I've read Gaia once so far, and am working my way through the first Jacke book and Sepp's as well.  I have tons of questions!

We vacation every summer in Naples; I may give you a shout next summer and swing by!

contact me by private message & I'll give you my email and contact info.

thanks,

-steve

Hi Steve,

I'm originally from Chelmsford, MA. I'm currently in New York for work, but I'm considering coming back there this spring to start a small permaculture operation in the Merrimack Valley. While I'm not in the area right now, I do know the area very well (thought not from a permaculture perspective, I'm pretty new to it) and I'd be happy to chat with you about stuff.

Grew up in Nashua. . . currently in Plymouth, but visit Nashua and the Nashua area often enough (friends, family, etc.)

How long have you and your family been cultivating your land?

I am near you Steve and I think we may have met on another forum. My husband and I are desperately trying to move out of MA.Just need to get rid of this house first. We are looking into buying our own piece of land and building our own home- maybe cob, maybe earthbag, maybe conventional construction mixed in.

Hey Andrew, I am from Leominster originally, and just bought a 2.5 acre homestead here in Phillipston a year ago. And I had a 6 unit apartment bldg in fitchburg for around 10 years. I have not done much as yet, but going to start with some chickens soon me thinks. Also would not mind building a Rocket Mass Stove at some point. Before I bought this house, I lived in a travel trailer in Ashby at one of my friends Dads house.

Regards,
Steve Richard

I'm out towards milford MA, (not the nh town by the same name) maybe an hour south tyngsborough. Inlaws are out that way, though. beautiful area.

I'm working towards creating a permie education hub in my area. check facebook.com/souloftheforest or the thread here about greater boston food forest educational center. I'd love to have more folks to bounce ideas off of.

Hello Steve & Andrew...

I live in Gardner and have land in Ashburnham, between the two of you. Also pretty new to the scene but trying to learn as quickly as I can. I have some gardens on the land and looking to expand this year. No livestock yet.

Andrew I have a classmate from yesteryear that owns a pig farm locally if you need pigs. I can hook you up if you like.

I also just posted something online here about trying to find someone with hives to set them on my land and teach me to care for them. I love honey and the idea of keeping bees.

Feel free to touch base if either of you wants to connect and chat more about this sort of thing.

Christopher

Hi Kim ... good luck with the project! Sounds like a great idea. Have you read Eric Toensmeier's Paradise Lot? It has lots of great species that have been tested in Holyoke, MA.
