I consider my growing methods more akin to food forestry than to permaculture.  I don't have the resources to retrofit my entire 3 acres to the "permaculture" way.  In the end, my growing techniques are more of a smorgasbord of different ideas.

What are some of the different growing methods you use in your garden (overarching terms)?

Examples of what you might be using:

Forest Gardening: This is the primary method I use to plan my survival garden.
Low maintenance, a sustainable gardening system that incorporates fruit, and nut trees, shrubs, herbs, vines, perennial and annual vegetables.

Silvopasture integrating trees, forage, and the grazing of domesticated animals in a mutually beneficial way. If you are interested in raising livestock check this out.

Permaculture: "Permaculture uses the inherent qualities of plants and animals combined with the natural characteristics of landscapes and structures to produce a life-supporting system for city and country, using the smallest practical area." Bill Mollison (the father of permaculture)
