This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEA curriculum. Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Roundwood Working.

Much like the wooden spoon, a wooden spatula is semi-universal as a useful food prep item. It involves working from a different cut of wood from the spoon however, largely due to the wide edge of the spatula in relation to the handle and the fact that you want an unerringly straight finished piece.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
Carve a functional spatula.
Must be carved from a single piece of wood.
Use only manual hand tools.
The finished spatula needs oiled to preserve the wood, organic or better.

To document and become certified for this BB provide photos or video (less than 2 minutes) showing the following:
- Show the wood and tools you intend to use
- Show the roughed in spatula
- Show the finished spatula after oiling
