Congratulations, Paul! Your influence goes beyond the US. I'm from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I'm new to permaculture, and your podcasts have been a great introduction to it. I've listened to all of them up to #150 so far. All I can do now is experiment in my tiny urban garden, but I'm dreaming and planning to move out to the country side to do it bigger. Thanks for making this world a better place.

a wonderfully inspiring article Paul..

Most Excellent!
I cannot wait to see the results of the LED! I switched from CFLs to cheap $7.00 LEDs. My electric bill has gone down. But, just like the CFLs light color quality is poor and the LED advertised wattage did not equal the light out put of the same wattage incandescent. For all the rest of the great research you have done on the CFLs... like longevity, manufacturing costs, environmental impact..... I have no idea. I will make a donation to your site to help advance your research along.
Thank you Paul!

Bravo! A good job well done!
Onward bringing permaculture to everyone. They all need it whether they know it or not
and it will, without a doubt, enhance their entire lives in many wonder-filled ways.
Kudos!

The cover was just to much. I love my mad hat and bib overalls. I swear we are twins separated at birth? Smart, slightly pushy, kinda beastly and always right. I like that about you and I Paul.

By the way, who is the beautiful scientist who helped you do the video of the bulb test? Smart, cute and dare I say, in charge? I love beauty and science. Seldom will they meet. At least not in any lab I ever worked in.

Just to let you all know the CFLs in my barn burned out years ago. The regular bulbs are still going strong. I put a 1 to 1 transformer on my one main bulb. This I also do with my refrigerators and comp equipment. This helps with power spikes and such. I still swear the power company pushes spikes to kill bulbs and stuff.

Ah Paul! Beauty and the Beast with science. My day is now completed.

Power to the people and up with incandescent bulbs.

Can someone clarify the afirmation:

"It's wild with comfrey, which is a stellar nitrogen fixer but also has many medicinal uses"

at http://missoulanews.bigskypress.com/gyrobase/grow-wild/Content?oid=1669018&storyPage=3

Comfrey isn't one nitrogen accumulator from my understanding, it does accumulate several minerals but not nitrogen like for example clover, Paul said something about it on one of the podcasts, one of the Sepp books got the same mistake (probably error on the translation).

That was a huge article, and rather than tip toe around this mountain of information for fear of making mistakes, the author dug right in. Sure, there are a couple of errors, but I think it did a thousand times more good than the errors did damage.

You are correct. Comfrey is not a nitrogen fixer.

Hey Daniel can you explain exactly what you did here to a non-techie person. If I could get incandescents to withstand power surges better I'd go back to them. Went to CFLs because incandescents were burning out constantly and the CFLs last better for me.

Great article! Looks like Misoula is becoming a center of permaculture influence in North America (Thanks to Paul et al.)!
